South West Airfields Heritage Trust and its Heritage Centres are staffed by unpaid volunteers who perform a wide range of tasks according to their skills.
The Volunteers are united in our mission to preserve aviation History for future generations. They are also dedicated to providing a great visitor experience and share our aim to be a top historical attraction in Devon & the South West
If you have an interest in history, would like some fun and would like to help us go forward then please call us. We are a friendly, informal group that welcomes and engages new volunteers and you don't need experience just enthusiasm a sense of humour and a willingness to get involved.
We are interested in recruiting people to undertake the following on a part-time basis:
Visitor and Heritage Centre Reception
Speakers to give illustrated talks
Marketing and Brochure design
Historical, Project & Airfield Research
Site Maintenance & DIY
Show representatives, to promote us at country shows & Events
If you think you could help us by giving a little of your time we would love to hear from you and don't worry about the History or experience, we will soon teach you.
While all our volunteers are unpaid we do offer the opportunity to learn more about preserving heritage, as well as taking part in visits to other museums and heritage venues.
We also get to see vintage aircraft close up such as this spitfire and Catalina !
